Thermal Bootup

Sweating like crazy, I was drenched in my perspiration licking the salty water off my lips. This was hotter than I was used to on Earth, the pelunkan atmosphere was literally burning me up, roasting my tanned skin severely. Had to find it….what was the use of living, of going back, things would never be the same….it had to be here somewhere. Turning around I saw the huge black swarm headed my way just in time, I ducked quickly, falling low to the ground. A few of the black ninches hit me unable to control their flight and blood began too ooze from various places in my body, I was hardly concerned. If I did'nt find it, I would have nothing to concern myself with anymore. Got up and started digging with the spade I had specially made out of carbon alloy, the same used by Angelina for grappling hooks while scaling the mountains as Mrs.Smith. The alloy had been found to be useful against thick dirt and a very effective combatant to mamphilarian limestone which made up most of the pelunkan crust. Thunk…thunk…I could'nt dig anymore. There was something solid wedged in the mamphiles. Using my bare hands to dislodge it, I heaved to and fro using all my body mass as the stubborn piece came grinding loose in my hand. Could it be this….I remembered the ancient Scandinavian saying "having no idea how it looks like makes finding so much tougher" and as my mind wandered searching its depths for the person who'd said it to me, my sweat dripped onto the piece and froze. I was ecstatic….my mind was getting crushed deciding how to celebrate this discovery, triumphs of joy echoed in my head as I used the special liquid form my knapsack to clean off the mamphile dust that had accumulated on it over the years. It had been so long, the elders had secured the piece very well indeed. For the last 5 years we, the people of earth had sent countless explorers on the search for the Remote Control to the Sun, earth had been steadily grinding to a halt its natural resources and habitat reduced to meagre portions. It had been predicted that in another 2 days the earth would have stopped spinning and cooled down to solid ice…unless the remote control to the sun were found and the sun turned on again. No one had been prepared for this…that the natural sun would die out had always been a distinct possibility, it was the reason the artificial sun project had been formed, but no one had anticipated meteor lungeller to hit the sun and wipe it out in a single blow. The map to the remote had been lost over the generations and so few had even known of its existense. Enough rumination over the distant past…all that would change, water would flow again and the plants would grow, birds would roam the earth and humans would be able to come out of hiding and resume lives without fear of the end of the world. Putting on my Rayban's, I hit the concealed button on the piece…and lay down as the warmth flooded me, for the first time in five years.
